SAT scores good enough?

Alright so heres the deal I am an international and I have applied to all the top colleges in the US. I gave my SAT for the first time in Oct 2010 and then my SAT 2 in Dec 2010. Now although I have sent my commonapp I can still make amends to it by requesting the specific colleges if I want to.
So tell me should I repeat my SAT 1 in Jan or not?

I got a 600 in CR , 770 in Math and 660 in Writing. In my SAT 2 I got a 790 in Math level 2, 760 in Chemistry and 750 in Physics. I have straight 9 A's in my O levels , 6 in my AS level, AICE Diploma distinction .. volunteer-work.. nationally ranked tennis player , 4.0 GPA etc..

the only thing that is stopping me right now is the cost of this whole sat repeating stuff.. since along with the registration fees Ill also have to send my sat scores again to 20 universities which wont be that cheap since I am already applying for fee waivers for most. Also the uncertainly factor most universities dont surely accept Jan scores either.. some do.. most are uncertain..

The colleges I am looking at are all the top ones like
Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Columbia, UPENN, Cornell, Williams, Vanderbilt, MIT, Stanford, Colgate, Harvey Mudd, Johns Hopkins, Northwestern, Villanova, Richmond and University of Miami..

Now I know that even if I get a perfect sat score my admission in these universities wont be confirmed but I am just asking with the kind of scores i have, do I at least have a 'chance' at these universities . like even if its a <10% but still they wont reject me straight away would they? Or do I need to get a score of like 2100+ to be considered?
I am applying for engineering btw..

Thanks :)

I would retake the SAT, but you have a chance. You could probably improve your writing score, as the writing is most easily prepped section. Also, if you were able to get a 770, I’m sure the math is no big deal for you and that you only lost 30 points because you made a dumb mistake. Next test you could get an 800 on math

I think vanderbilt is good.

You don’t stand much of a chance with a 2030…

so that means atleast I got a shot? like atleast i’ll be considered and if they like my overall application they will accept me… because I know 3 people who got into top unis from here… a girl with 2080 just got into Yale… early decision… last year a guy with 2060 got into MIT and a guy with 2070 got into stanford… :D…

Hi guys, I need URGENT HELP!
I’m an international student (Croatia). I took SAT I once and I got 1710 (cr480, ma690, wr540). I have this last chance now in January, and I doubt between taking SAT I or SAT II.
I need your advice. What do you think will the Admission Officers consider better?

1.) SAT I 1710 and 3 SAT II 700+ or
2.) SAT I 1900

I’m applying to Villanova, Macalester, Oberlin, Lafayette, Lehigh, Colgate, Gettysburg, Trinity University, St. Olaf.
Also my GPA 4.0, strong EC’s, 10% of class, need financial aid.

papir stop hijacking every1s threads and make yer own :o

bump… :D
