SAT Subject Test Scores?

Hi there. I’m only taking the SAT Subject Tests for Georgetown; none of the other colleges I’m applying to require them/recommend them. I’m applying to Georgetown College as Undecided. I have taken the subject tests twice now (June 2016 and Nov 2016) and I haven’t done particularly well, but I haven’t really studied for them either. I’m taking them again tomorrow, but I still have never really prepared for the tests, so I don’t think I’ll do so well tomorrow. Right now I have a 670 in Literature, a 640 in Math 1 :(((, and a 720 in Math 2. I did well on the ACT (34 Composite) without too much studying/practice, but still quite a bit more than I have for these tests. Do you think scores around this range are ok? I know they aren’t that good, but I don’t really think I can do that much better tomorrow. The only other thing I can think of is taking the tests again in January, if Georgetown accepts scores from the January test date (???), and preparing a lot for those over winter break. Do you think scores in the low 700s are ok for Georgetown?? or do i really need to get 750+? the other aspects of my application are pretty good, in my opinion. Thanks

I am almost positive that Georgetown doesn’t accept scores after the regular decision deadline unless you have a good reason. However, having scores is probably better than not sending anything. While your scores aren’t where you want them to be, they are not horrible and you would probably be best off just sending them in. Keep in mind that Georgetown is one of the schools that requires you to send in your whole testing history, so even if you get the 750 they will still see the 640. Best of luck!

You may want to double check to verify but I called Georgetown about a similar situation and they said they would accept scores from the January test date.

Georgetown does accept the January test date. I emailed them about it because I only have one subject test so far. Make sure to pick Georgetown for one of those free score reports right away, don’t wait to get your scores back.
