Which test would be easier to prepare for? I'm a senior and I'm planning on applying to UCSD, UC Davis, UC Irvine, UCLA, and and some private schools for engineering. Many of the UCs recommend subject tests. I feel more confident with physics but the last physics class I took was in freshman year and it was only an introductory class. I won't be taking AP Physics until my second semester. I took chem when I was junior but I found it challenging and got a B and I'm usually an A student. Right now I'm taking AP Calculus. I got a 25 on my ACT and I plan on taking it again. I'm taking the subject tests in October.

Hmm, hard to say. I’d take a practice test of each to see which one you got a better hang of. Both aren’t too dificult, with an honors or AP class and a bit of studying, but idk. I found physics much easier personally but I did take AP physics B which I thought prepared me quite well. Look at problems from both.

An introductory physics class that you took 3 years ago is not a recipe for a good sat 2 physics score. Self study for the test is possible, but because of the breadth of the test, you would need to dedicate 4-6 months to do that well.
