satisfactory completion of courses and grades

in my transfer letter it said that of course my matriculation is dependent on satisfactory completion of all courses and grades this semester.

has anyone heard of anyone getting denied entry because they did poorly after getting accepted?

I dropped an honors physics class and got in (I had an A in it first semester though, so I wasn't doing poorly in it, it just wasn't worth the effort and the work).

As long as you don't bomb your second semester (meaning straight C's and D's) and don't drop all your AP/Honors coursework to regular for no reason other than lazyness, you should be fine.

Even if you do slip up, you're more likely to get academic probation first semester though, rather than withdrawal of acceptance. It basically means you're on the naughty stool for half a year and have to get a decent GPA to stay at NYU.

edit: just reread your post and you're a transfer. I guess you need to pass all your courses?

well yeah i was kind of just worried that out of 5 classes if i got 1 C+ or 2 Cs or something they would rescind their offer.

anyone else?

thanks

Yeah, I dropped my AP Spanish class senior year, received 2 C's a B, and an A...(only took four courses, not including Concert Orchestra), and NYU didn't rescind my admissions...nor put me on academic probation. 2 C's won't hurt you, only if you fail. NYU is too large of a school for the admissions people to keep track of every admitted applicant, only major concerns are addressed.

Don't sweat it =D
