I got my Saturday at the Square invitation today! Oh my god, I'm soo excited!! I can't believe it!! I applied into Dramatic Writing, so they must have really liked my essays/recs/portfolio, because my stats are much lower than most applicants. Oh well, I'm happy!! :)

Location: CT
SATs: 2090 770 writing 650 math 660 verbal
GPA: 3.35
Rank: 43/350 something like that, top 12 percent
ECs: A ton. Lots of experience and classes in my field of study (video production and screenwriting activities and jobs all four years), 4 years of year round varsity sports, VP of NHS, Pres of Community Service club, lots of extra hobbies and classes (yoga, web design, etc), some clubs (Mock Trial, Human Relations Committee, etc), Newspaper writer/reporter

was the invitation only for people who applied tish school?
hows that invitation look like? like a postcard or an actual invitation looking card?

Calcruzer --When it comes to Tisch, this kind of thing is not going to be the decider. After passing a certain bar (which you can see from other posters is not so high as to render your concerns an issue here) it is all about the portfolio or audition, in other words, the talent. Even being Val at the #1 high school in the universe will not compensate for lack of that. I address Tisch specifically here because your question is posted on the "Saturday at the Square" thread, which is a Tisch-only event. Most private colleges recalculate GPA for the very issue you mention, so don't worry on that count.

SATs: 2190 760 V 710 M 720 W
GPA: School doesn't calculate, but 89 average
Rank: Top third (competitive private school)
ECs: Newspaper, drama stuff, theatre club officer

My major was in Drama. Has anyone other Drama major gotten a letter? I'm so excited!

I'm so afraid they're going to call me and be like, "Juuust kidding! We didn't mean to send that to you." Or that it doesn't actually mean you're accepted...Though I doubt they would ask someone in Houston to go to NYC if they weren't accepted...

youre from houston?? me too! well, spring, which is right outside of houston. what school do you go to?

hehe and yeah i know what you mean. i was still kinda like ahh what if it was a mistake?? until i rsvped and on the confirmation screen it was like "Hi Rachel! Glad you're coming!" (it only asks for your last name when you RSVP for confirmation) =P

when i went to rsvp, the site was messed up. as soon as i loaded the page it had asteriks by the fields you're supposed to fill in and it said I had done it incorrectly...except I hadn't done anything yet...

I had to press the button like 20 times before it worked. Maybe its b/c I'm using a Mac. I also don't think it said my name when I replied. AAH! Hah, I'm sure its fine...

Just for confirmation for you guys who applied to Tisch, my friend got an invitation for the same thing and called the admissions office to see if he should rsvp if he was going to be rejected...Unofficially he's in for acting. You guys all know this by now anyway, but just in case there was any doubt, now its all cleared up
