Saying NO to the interview

I've already applied to Cornell but recently changed my mind because I can't really see myself going there anymore. I know I will be receiving a call from local alumni to set up an interview so I was wondering what is the best way possible to tell them that I don't want one without sounding offensive or uninterested in the school? I think going would only hurt my chances of getting in anyway. I haven't ruled Cornell out completely but I know I don't want to have an interview. PLEASE HELP!

cornell doesn't have interviews. they only have them for the hotel school.

Errmm yes, Cornell has interviews . . . they're only mandatory for Hotel and AAP I believe, but they still have "interviews"

don't u have to request them?

I believe an alumni in your area is automatically contacted to arrange an "interview", which doesn't really help or hurt your chances at all.

I had an the informal interview. Just go if you are called, it would only be a half hour to an hour. Keep your options opened.

part of the interview is reserved for your questions about cornell...maybe you should go in order to really convince yourself that cornell isnt right for you...it really can't hurt. My alumna (?) was pretty insightful, and it's not as formal/hardcore as you would think.

by the way i had an interview as an ED applicant...soooo i dunno.

gregunit: alumna is correct. finally someone uses it correctly, woohoo!

the alums are chill, they just want to talk about cornell with you, not grill you or anything. They do it because they love cornell.
