it’s possible, but kind of unlikely because the people who go to garcia or any research camp for the summer tend to have already done some research and they are going there to continue it…

again, i don’t know for sure… but out- of -state students are not at the convenience to travel to say garcia everyday to do research lol

i do have a friend though who was an Intel Finalist after a summer at Garcia…

does anyone know what the total cost of garcia is?
room board, + $1100 program, and food?
the site shows meal plans up to $2500, but nothing on the cost of room and board, is there a previous attendee who would know?

Oh, cool!
I was just wondering… do you have a significant background in science research? or just really high grades? high SAT II/AP scores in science? hehe, i’m just wondering what it is that the admissions people looks for when accepting students for garcia…

hello everyone. please help!
i just found out about this program a week ago. the deadline’s approaching.
Do we NEED a mentor to apply? i’ve never done any research before. would that mean i def won’t get in?
i have good grades, took AP Bio and Chem, 239 PSATs, volunteered at a science museum.

I’m still deciding on whether to apply for Garcia this year and the deadline is coming soon.
**Do you need research experience?
I merely have an interest, but have never done anything before.
I live in CA and it seems like most of you in this thread are around the NY area. Are there many out-of-state people?
