Are there colleges that won’t recalculate your GPA with only your core classes? Because I do pretty well in most of my classes but if they recalculate then my GPA drops like 4 points!! (100 pt scale) This is because I go to a very rigorous challenging Yeshiva High School and I take 11 classes a day, so when some people have alot more time to dedicate to studying for their core classes my time has to be spread out alot more so I probably don’t do as well in everything as many people do. It happens to be that I am very good in my Jewish classes (very challenging classes, not at all a joke) and that that is an area in which i excell. Does that even matter? Please help me I am freaking out now to hear that many colleges recalculate GPAs with only core classes.
btw I am required to take all these classes by my school if that makes any difference.

Some colleges will recompute and look at your transcript as a whole. Most college websites have a section about evaluating the application - and some specifically state which courses are used in GPA. This will also be evaluated in terms of class rank.

yes I believe most recalculate, but mostly they take out things like gym and arts/music. since your jewish classes appear to be serious academic study, they may still be included in the recalculation. even if they aren't, the school will understand the situation and your good grades in Jewish classes will be noted favorably. I think the extra classes are almost like an EC

Don't be scared no matter what. And also, exactly what kind of a four points are we talking about? if the drop is from 83 to 79, then that is a problem. 92 to 88 might be a slight problem. But, if it is as i expect, a 94 or > being lowered to a lower A there is no concern whatsoever.
