Recs/Essays:
Pretty Good - the extra rec from my professor should be glowing

My essays are really good in my opinion, but then again that is a subjective matter.

you have an alright chance
your weaknesses are obviously your GPA and your race.
sucks.

I think you have a good chance, but as always, Stanford is gonna be real tough. Best of luck to you! Hopefully we both get in!

But Public Forum? Come on.. Policy Debate is where it's at!

haha collegeapp09, i can't stand policy! it's so detail oriented and fails to understand the general concepts of the debate - it's all about reading off the most cards in the most time... not my style. so except the GPA, do i stand a pretty good chance?

Agreed about reading off of cards and how speed reading plays too much of a factor, but I think it's a ton more time-pressured than LD or public forum. That way it allows for more of thinking on your feet and generally requires more skill. But I can understand how you don't like it. I tried public forum for a tourny and didn't like it at all. Like grand crossfire is such a dumb concept.. Anyways, I guess it all depends on your essays how good they end up being and if you took a lot of AP courses before senior yr.

My GPA is also my biggest hurdle, so hopefully that doesn't play a HUGE role. I don't think it will, but ya never know.

Oh and Indian pride! lol

bump me up?

perhaps others are interested in chancing me? btw, the essays are REALLY good and pretty original so that's something else to chew on.

what is your class rank?

i'm in the top 3% of my grad class of 615+...
