Hi. I am senior in high school and was rejected from first choice, the University of Kentucky.

Now, I think about the future a lot, so I am posting here right now instead of next spring (and I may even post again).

I am a big Kentucky Wildcats fan, love the school, and the area that the school is at. I would love to be able to transfer either as a second semester freshman, or as a sophomore.

My whole high school career was my downfall, however, I believe it was mostly my GPA. I do not think I will be able to transfer as a second semester freshman to UK, since my GPA was so low and my ACT was, well, decently okay in my opinion.

(I go to an all-girls private boarding school).
GPA: 2.43 (currently, should be up around a 2.5 or so at the end of the year).
ACT: 23, UK superscores so it would be a 24.

I'm determined to get into UK.
So, Scenario: If I get my GPA up to at least a 3.7 (hoping to get it higher, at least around a 3.9/4.0), will I be able to transfer out for sophomore year to UKentucky?
I'm assuming (please correct me if I'm wrong) if I apply for the spring semester I will not get into UK because of my high school record...? right?

I DO NOT want to stay two years at a college and then transfer, ONE year max.
I know I screwed up in high school, and I consider myself as a late bloomer- my senior year has been awesome: my grades are high, and I know that i'm improving.

Thanks,
