Hi guys! I have a question about my schedule - maybe an upperclassman can help me out? I'm scheduled to take Spanish Textual Analysis on MWF at 9:35. Problem is, I'm also scheduled for Chem tutorial on Fridays at the same time. Is this something I should contact my counselor about? Also, what exactly is chem tutorial? Is it more like a lecture or a review session? Thanks so much for the help!

Definitely contact your advisor. That's why they put up your schedule early so you can double check (unless you found it through the calendar workaround- the advisors don't much like that, wait for the real schedule).

From what I've gleaned from the kids in my hallway who took Chem, the tutorial is just that, a tutorial - a review session substantially smaller than your lecture.

Depending on which chem you are taking, it may not be a review session. My chem tutorial was basically another class, the same size as the regualar lecture, where we often learned new material. Definitely get in touch with your advisor.

Often? When didn't we?

Lol. OK, our chem tutorial was a class where we ALWAYS learned new material. I guess I was thinking of my orgo class too, where we only learned new material some of the time. The rest of the time we reviewed material that we didn't understand any better than when we learned it for the first time. :)
