Schedule...

I am planning on majoring in Neuroscience, I am a direct admit to the College of Arts and Science, I am in the Hutton Honors College, and I really, really, want to get into medical school. I was planning on taking BIOL-L 112 and CHEM-C 117 in the same semester, but I signed up for biology at a conflicting time. My schedule below is fourteen credit hours.

I was thinking about adding PHYS-P 201 (Physics) or MATH-M 211 (Calculus) to this schedule. That would then make the total credit hours about 18-19. Is that a bad idea?

BIOL-L 112 Biological Mechanisms MoWeFr 8-850; A Berndtson
GER-G 300 Sixth Semester German MoWeFr 125-215; Staff
PSY-P 155 Intro to Psychological and Brain Sciences MoWeFr 230-320; C. Hoffman
HON-H 212 Ideas and Experience II TuTh 1115-1230; J. Karaagac
MUS-L 101 Beginning Guitar Class TuTh 230-320; P. Jankovic

Waitlisted at 2 for MSCI-M Disease and the Human Body; MoWeFr 1220-110; T. Bosin

Any thoughts or advice would be greatly appreciated!

Since MSCI-M Disease and the Human Body is more than 200 students, you will probably get in off the waitlist at 2. Classes don’t start for six weeks, and that is a long time for people to change their schedules, change majors, not be able to afford tuition, etc.

Remember that you are eligible to be accepted from the wait list until midnight Friday the first week of classes. A lot of students will look at the syllabus for a class, and then drop during first week. So you will probably easily get in if you stay on the wait list until that Friday. Also, some people go to class the first session and ask the prof if they can be added, and often the prof will add them if there are enough seats in the classroom.

maybe you could put the credit hours of each class on there, cause I’m a bit confused. Do you have 14 credit hours with or without MSCI-M? I assume without; all 3 credits then MUS-L is 2? If thats right, then you’d have 17 w/ MSCI i think, which looks pretty good and balanced imo.

BIOL-L 112 - 3 Credit hours
GER-G 300 - 3 Credit hours
PSY-P 155 - 3 Credit hours
HON-H 212 - 3 Credit hours
MUS-L 101 - 2 Credit hours
MSCI-M - 3 Credit hours

Which is 17 credit hours in all. Is this too much of a load for a freshman?
