Does anyone know exactly what is involved? I know there is an interview on Saturday but what do they do with the students during the rest of the time?

I understand there's a 3 hour confirmation exam (math, science, and literature) following the interview.

Thanks for the info. Will he need a calculator or is the math doable without it?

Both my daughters are Blue Hen Alumni now (out of state applicants). One participated in Scholars Weekend as a competitor and then participated as a Scholar Host for the next four years (2007 graduate). There is much social interaction with current Scholars, university community members and members of the area of community. When my daughter was a competitor, she stayed in the residence halls with current Scholars as well as in the hotel with other competitors. She was a given a personal tour by the Chair of her prospective department. There are many community meals and social opportunities. All of these students are top shelf academically. My impression was they are looking for that certain something that separates from the rest. I do remember her having to do some essay writing, but will ask her about any further testing on the weekend. Students are certainly be assessed over all phases of the weekend, but they do a fine job as hosts of these high-achieving students.
