I was accepted into scholars the other day, right after I toured, so I wasn’t able to ask any direct questions about scholars programs and I was wondering if anyone had any advice as to which programs are good and which are bad. I am a pre-CSE student and my top options are Humanitarian engineering, Mount Leadership Society Scholars, Innovation, Creativity and Entrepreneurship Scholars, and International Affairs. But without much information on the programs other than what is posted on the scholars page I am still curious and looking for any information. Anything helps!
@m12321 Congrats! My S was also accepted into the Pre-Engineering and Scholars . We would love get the same information. Also, would it be crazy to do something totally unrelated to Engineering?
@SALSRL I don’t think so, there are a lot of interesting options outside of the two engineering scholars programs
it is difficult to get into Mount Scholars, but they seem to be an extremely tight nit group. I haven’t heard anything specific about the engineering scholars, but I have friends in IA. they like it and you get placed in Smith-Steeb. I would say that doing something outside your major is not a bad thing. I am in Politics, Society and Law scholars and we have a neuroscience major on our floor. The goal would be to find a program that you have interests in even if it is not your major.
@winne15 I appreciate the feedback. Do you know if the engineers typically pick engineering programs?
