Scholars Programs...

OK so I got selected for the Scholars of Natural Science, or whatever it is. I know what it is and everything, but I'm not too sure if these scholars programs (not just sciences) are legit good programs - like are these programs reserved for the TOP applicants, or is it just a honors alternative (didn't apply)?

Also, on a sidenote, how many people actually get the Presidential Scholarships? I got one, and it seems like most people on this board also did.

I got a Presidential Scholarship. I also got into the Scholars in Shakespeare program- does anyone have any experience with this program?

I got the 15,000 Presidential Scholarship but I dont think I got Honors. I didnt see it in the packet, is it posted online?

The Presidential Scholarship is reserved for the top of the applicant pool. I'd say you need a minimum 2100 SAT and 3.8 GPA to be considered for one. The impressions one gets from the CC board are very distorted as there is a disproportionate number of top students who post here.

The Scholars programs are good for promoting closer interaction with professors and a peer group. It's nice to have this in a school with nearly 10,000 undergrads. I recommend joining these programs.

Close, this year 2060 and 4.0 unweighted was good enough.
