Same scholarship money as andyle and supermarth64.

How could people not get the presidential with a 2300 SAT score, even if they are OOS?? I just was talking to 2 friends who got the presidential and they said they didn’t even meet the SAT qualifications for presidential!

Hello,
I haven’t received an email on whether or not I am to get scholarship money based on academics, and I wasn’t expecting one lol. I was just wandering if anybody could tell me how much money they think I’m eligible for based on financial need. my dad makes under 35000 a year. I already have a sister in college. That’s about it lol :)!
-Thanks

How are they awarding Scarlet Scholarships when the website notes these are based on academic merit AND financial need, when the FASFA website only went live a week ago? If they tell you earned it, but then your EFC is $40+K, do they rescind it?

bandgeek24601, my school doesn’t rank, but my friend who has a 4.0 UW (and 4.7 W), instate, and 2400 SAT got a full ride to Rutgers so I would have to disagree with you on that one.

Is anyone hearing about scholarships been accepted into SEBS? My daughter’s SATs are just below Presidential level, but she’s top 3%, has very good ECs and a strong essay. She checked the website yesterday and saw nothing.

Daughter checked again and got the $3500/year! We’re happy her hard work was recognised! Any idea if the $1000./yr you get for Honors is in addition to this or included if she’s accepted?

Here’s my theory why kids with SAT 2300+ (including my son) aren’t being offered presidential scholarship. Rutgers probably thinks they belong to the ‘creamy layer’ and would end up going to more prestigious universities in spite of the offer. So, they want to offer it to those kids who are still good and would probably opt for Rutgers with an attractive scholarship package. Makes sense?

^I disagree. I have a 2330, straight As (with only 2 A-s), very good class ranking. The only way Rutgers would know that I probably won’t be accepted by most “cream of the crop” universities is if they looked at my activity sheet, which wasn’t sent. I think they looked more carefully at the essays from the Presidential-level applicants, but that just be my opinion. Either that or class rank played a greater role than SATs, with only those in the top 1 or 2% of their class awarded the scholarship…

We paid the $150 deposit 2 days after my D was accepted in November. No clue if that had any impact to the scholarship decision. Frankly, if they saw her activity sheet and service hours it might have helped her in the scholarship process, although she realized they don’t see that and wrote her essay about a church mission trip to LA to repair Katrina-damaged houses.

We’re happy - obviously, more scholarship $ would be great, but the price/value equiation can’t be beat!
