@IllinoisMom1 My s20 was accepted in the first round and sent his $100 in five minutes after getting his acceptance email. About 2 weeks ago he got work of the provost scholarship ($2k) but yesterday they bumped it to the Maximus ($3k). We are instate. Unsure why bump occurred; he has a very rigorous senior schedule and had a strong first semester which moved his HPA a smidge. He did send his first semester scores in. So…I don’t think accepting impacts merit, at least for instate. We did not complete a FAFSA or special scholarship app.
@illinoismom1 - IU gave 20K? That’s awesome, only got 11k so far OOS, have they sent out SSA already? I thought the max was 11k Deans? Anyway congrats!
Postcard received yesterday informing that Financial Aid Award is currently being considered and will be out soon.
Early Action
Accepted 11/23
OOS Female

Hoping for Buckeye and Provost since the Net Price Calculator did include them.
No one should really be surprised at the merit award maximum. OSU is very clear on their website what the award dollar values are so if you are not going for Eminence or Morrill then you can do the math to determine your max award is Maximus plus National Buckeye so 13.5k+3K = 16.5K. And those are of course not guaranteed. But I’m not sure why anyone would expect more than that.
Just received the Morrill Prominence Scholarship (value of in-state tuition and the non-Ohio resident fee). Excited but also not really sure what the exact amount will cover! Accepted on 1/30 for Aerospace Engineering, ACT 29, 3.6 GPA, IB Diploma Candidate, pretty good ECs, strong recommendation letters, OOS & African American
@boogie1917 Hi! I’m a Morrill Prominence Recipient as well! I am OOS and I am 99% sure that the scholarship covers all tuition for 4 years. Hope this helps!
@nicholasallen so all i would be paying for is room and board, and whatever else miscellaneous costs there are? or do you know?
@boogie1917 Yes with Prominence, since it covers all tuition, the only costs you’d pay each year is room and board and other miscellaneous stuff.
Congrat @boogie1917. this is an excellent Scholarship.
it looks like they are giving more Morril to out of the state compared to in-state, I did not see anyone who received Morril after 12/20
D received notice late last night that she was accepted into the honors program. She is a dance major. Do you think that she might receive merit aid? We are oos and won’t be able to afford the tuition otherwise. Only issue is her SAT. She has a 1330, but has a 4.3 weighted gpa with 7 APs. Cross country captain, varsity track, dances 20 hours per week at different companies, and volunteers weekly in a program for dancers with special needs. Worked in a gymnastics camp over the summer
Have many OOS heard regarding buckeye schloarship? My son got in the engineering school on 12/13.
31 act
4.3 WGPA
top 12% of his class
Really hoping for the buckeye scholarship!
Daughter is OOS - Engineering and honors admit; no word on merit; did get email yesterday saying financial aid offer will be sent between end of Feb and mid March; don’t know if this is only need based or includes merit; though don’t think we are eligible for need; ACT 36; GPA 4.7
We got that same email
Yesterday.
sjpatt,
My son is in ohio, and he was admitted on Jan,17, With Act 35, Gpa 4.0
He admitted on Engineering and honor program, he got merit scholarship on last Tuesday by snail mail, and honors on last Friday by email, your daughter probably will get maximus($3,000/yr x 4yr=$12,000) I don’t know about buckeye scholarship, cause I am in state, but seems like will get that, too.
Good luck
@sjpatt my dd had lower stats than yours and she got National Buckeye. I don’t know if major matters, though (she’s in dance, presumably much less academically competitive than engineering).
What were her stats? When did she get the buckeye scholarship, did it come via snail mail?
She was notified via snail mail. Provost and National Buckeye. ACT 32, GPA 3.96/4.38, OOS, homeschooled so no class rank. Dance major.
My S20’s Merit $ info came via snail mail. Instate provost about 4 weeks ago, got bumped to Maximus (also via snail mail) about a week or so ago.
I received a snail mail letter a few days ago informing me that I received the Provost scholarship but nothing regarding financial aid has been sent to my BuckEmail so I am getting slightly concerned. Do I have reason to be or is it just paranoia striking again?
@music394 it seems to be paranoia, I haven’t gotten mine but I think financial aid is supposed to be coming out in late Feb, early March
