@music394, no financial aid has come out yet. We got an email a few days ago to be on the lookout for it beginning the end of February until mid March. So I wouldn’t worry about that yet.
Has anyone received the financial aid packet yet?
Not yet.
My DD received National Buckeye and Trustees Scholarship notification via snail mail on Friday. Her stats are 30 ACT, 3.8 unweighted GPA, 4.2 weighted, top 10% of her class. College of Arts and Sciences.
Got it today National Buckeye and Trustees - ACT 31 GPA 3.9 4.3 weighted top 20%.
Congrats! My D is OOS and has the exact same stats as your daughter. I hope we get something soon!
@IllinoisMom1 @JerseyGirlsMom2 Are you able to see that reflected when you look under financial aid in buckeyelink? I’m wondering if it posts when they mail the letter or if it posts afterward.
It came snail mail.
My son just got in last week after being deferred. I was not sure if he would get any aid - we just got the email saying his aid offer will arrive between late February and mid March. So I’m assuming this means he will get something? We are not eligible for any need based aid and we are OOS. Does anyone know the requirements for buckeye scholarship?

National Buckeye
But it is not guaranteed. My D19 met the requirements last year, but did not get it. Haven’t heard yet for D20, whose stats are higher than D19.
@momzilla2D thanks I just saw that. He meets SAT requirement but his school doesn’t rank and his gpa is in low side. I wonder if he will get it. If he does I am going to really encourage him to consider it over Boulder haha. And we need to visit…
@TheFrenchChef I don’t know how they decide which of those who qualify actually get the National Buckeye. D19 had 1450 SAT/3.4 GPA, and school doesn’t rank but probably in top 25%. But she also had a disciplinary issue early in senior year, which could have entered into it. As I said, she didn’t get the National Buckeye. But she’s there now anyway, and loving it!
D20 has 1470 SAT / 3.9 GPA, school doesn’t rank, but definitely in top 25%. Admitted in 1st Nov wave and hasn’t heard anything on National Buckeye.
My D got the Buckeye scholarship and trustees scholarship . GPA 3.9 WGPA 4.3
Does anyone know the exact cost of tuition for OOS 2020/ 2021? I can only find cost for 2019/20.
I forgot to write ACT 31
@creativelogin it should be in your buckeye/financial aid portal under SFA status.
I have a question though, does anyone know if this is the final financial aid package or if aid from the special scholarships and local alumni group can still come in after this?
Done…and just got a phone call from OSU! Nice touch.
Does anyone know about the special scholarship application? Any past knowledge of what they typically award for that? And when will we hear about any awards?
My daughter’s Buckeye financial aid portal says estimated cost of attendance is 51,482. My expected family contribution is less, and she has Buckeye/ Trustees scholarships that will help. I just really don’t think OSU is up to 51,482 for OOS yet.
Cost of attendance for OOS students can easily reach >$50K when you consider that COA includes books, supplies, personal expenses and transportation (or at least an allowance for same). The COA figure assumes full OOS tuition (without merit scholarships). Also, some OSU schools/departments, e.g., engineering, have extra “instructional” fees on top of tuition. Plus, all of the basic laboratory science courses (chem, bio, and physics) have extra fees that run $250-300 per semester course each.
