So after a lot of research I think Northeastern will be my top choice, but the price is pretty high, and I have heard that they are not very good when it comes to need-based aid. I probably will not be a NMF so I will have to rely on the merit-based scholarship...

With an UW GPA of 3.97 and combined SAT of 2210 (CR 710, M 800, W 700), how much money would I be able to get, if any at all?

My daughter’s stats were almost identical to yours and she got into the honors program with a $20,000 deans scholarship per year. She is a sophomore and that was when NMF got full tuition -with their scholarships going down, don’t know if the deans scholarships will also go down?

All the stuff the university is putting out talks about how they are increasing aid and scholarships. Getting rid of the automatic full tuition for NM I think is mostly about aiming for a more diversely successful incoming class (i.e., recognizing achievements besides just NM) (though I can’t complain about the full NM scholarship since I also benefitted from it).
It will be interesting to see how their change in scholarship/aid policy plays out, but I am near on 100% certain that you will be admitted, perhaps get honors, and also something in the range of the Dean’s scholarship. I don’t know what the rest of your application and accomplishment would look like for it, but have you also looked at the University Scholars Program?

Thanks for the info kiddie, hopefully I will be eligible for an amount around that. A rep from NU visited my high school recently and did not mention anything about scholarship changes other than taking away the full tuition for NMFs, so it seems they’re sticking with their numbers for the Dean’s.
nano, thanks for the assurance and yes I have looked at the University Scholars. I doubt my ECs are good enough for that as they do not really show the leadership qualities many other applicants will probably have. Sometimes I wish I started thinking about college as a freshman to try to get involved with better looking ECs and possibly get NMF junior year, but oh well at least I worked hard academically.
