Is anyone else planning to go there for the competitions?

I'm not sure if I am going, but I would really like to. I'd be going to the College of Education competition.

I am going.

I'm going on the 9th for the College of Arts & Sciences (if I'm accepted) and since my intended major isn't on the list, I'm going to do the essays for the English competition.

Okay, I got the e-mail about that, and I'm interested in doing it (because, hey, it's money), but I have no idea what it entails. To be honest, though, I was reading the webpage on my iPod, so I was having a hard enough time figuring out what it was saying in the first place.

Can anyone give me a quick rundown on what it is?

The scholarship competitions are for rewards of $500-5,000. Each college has one, and each is a bit different. Most consist of an essay questions, problem solving exercises or mathematics problems. Winners are selected on how well the person performs at the competitions. I took a look at each one and they are completely different. You have to check out the college you want to figure out what's on the exam. Hope that's some help.

icecanes -- Where exactly on the website do they describe what's on the exams?

That one shows whats on each exam.

Did anyone go yesterday or last week?

Can you take more than one exam? My D is interested in the pre-physical therapy program. She is unsure if she will major in Psychology or Health Sciences. Could she take an exam in both if they fall on different dates?

You know, we wondered the same thing last year as my daughter pondered majors. She ended up just taking the exam in Health Sciences, so we never enquired. You probably should just make a quick phone call on this one. I don't see why you couldn't take two. It would mean two trips for you if you are not local.
