Scholarship Decisions Thread:

I compiled a list of everyone’s stats and the scholarships received as reported in this thread thus far. Here’s what it looks like the breakdown of criteria, type of scholarship and amounts:

UCF Scholarships 2011-2012 (based on postings in this thread- NOT OFFICIAL!!)

All amounts are total over 4 years

Pegasus Bronze= $6000
InState, 26 ACT

Pegasus Silver=$9000-10000
InState, 28-29 ACT, 3.76-4.0W GPA, AP Classes

Pegasus Gold=$12000
InState, 30ACT/ 1360SAT, 4.1w GPA, AP Classes (NFJL 28ACT)

Provost = $24000

Knights Achievement Award = $40000
OOS, 28-34 ACT, 1270 SAT (CR+M) 2030 SAT, 3.6uw/4.2w GPA

Again, this is NOT OFFICIAL… just a compilation of what everyone posted in this thread thus far. Hope this helps folks for future planning.

To add to the scholarship list…

UCF also has a National Hispanic Scholarship awarded automatically to all National Hispanic Scholars via PSAT. I’m instate and the amount I was offered was $40,000 over 4 years; I believe the out of state amount is higher. There’s probably something similar to this for Achievement Scholars (the Black equivalent) and much more for National Merit Finalists.

I still haven’t gotten any awards. I’m at 2170/1440, 3.98W/3.85UW. Should I take that to mean I’m not getting anything or just that it’s taking a while?
Also, I got the Honors College app a few weeks back and sent it in within a few days. What sort of time frame am I looking at for notification?

@SGDrummer7: I think with your stats that you qualify for Gold or Provost…

When did you apply?

I had understood that honors responds within a few weeks, so hopefully you’ll hear something soon.

January 3rd. Up until that point, I was planning on majoring in something that UCF doesn’t offer. Missed the priority deadline, but I still got in. Did that kill my chances?

Well my Financial Aid got updated, but it’s only loans. Does that mean that’s all I’ll get, or is there still a possibility of another award?

My daughter’s did too, and all she got was loans…unfortunately, that is a deal breaker for us since she is OOS. Not sure how little someone’s income has to be, but it must be REALLY low. I am a single mom with twins on their way to college and they have gotten no aid. My income is pretty low.

@SG

You probably won’t get any other sort of help. A lot of grant aid is first come, first serve. Most merit scholarships have been given out at this point, so it’s unlikely that you’ll get those either. However, if your scores and GPA were high enough to deserve a merit scholarship, you could call financial aid and ask.

1420/2110 SAT
30 ACT
4.8 Weighted gpa
5 on ap physics b and ap Calc
4 on ap English Lang
10 total aps by graduation

Anybody else feel like I should have gotten better than silver? Will ucf reconsider when I apply for honors?

Wrong thread sorry

I applied in October and got the Provost scholarship two or three weeks afterward. I had a 2120 SAT and 4.5 GPA if that helps. Hope you guys find out soon!

I got accepted a while ago (a few months)…still no scholarship offers

How did you find out about your scholarship? Did they email you? Send out a letter? Call you? Son just got accepted yesterday, waiting on Honors College. He is National Hispanic Scholar.

My son got his scholarship letter today. He was also accepted to the Burnett Honors College.

So I got the Knight’s Achievement award (44k over 4 years). Can I still get another on top of that, or is that it? Either way, this greatly improves my chances of being able to afford UCF.

I’ve a 3.9 GPA and a 28 on the ACT, so I don’t know if that even qualifies me for anything, but…

No, you can only get one of the merit scholarships. They aren’t “stackable”.

Is the Knight’s Achievement Scholarship only for oos students? I don’t think I’ll get it. Just curious.

It’s for OOS students, I believe. I’m not sure, though.

Shouldn’t it be like the Hispanic scholar? The Hispanic Scholar is for every one.
Suggestion… Email Mr. Luke (his email is on the website), he is the scholarship coordinator and ask him.
