Scholarship Decisions Thread:

Congrats to all on your awards!! And thanks for sharing your info!

Congrats to your son!! Do you mind sharing his stats??

My son goes to a small private school OOS which doesn’t rank and doesn’t offer AP courses, just honors. He was in Honors History. If I remember correctly, his GPA was around 3.6, don’t know about weighted. He got 1290/1990 on his SAT’s.

I got Pegasus Gold today! About time!

congrats Wisdom!!! What are your stats?!

1360/2040 SAT
About 4.1 Weighted gpa
100 hours of service
1 club
AP Stat and AP Psych credit

If I am applying now, will I still be considered for these and would I have any chance at them? I have a 4.0 w GPA (School doesn’t go any higher), and 2010 SAT (1330 M + CR) as well as a lot of extra currics

Where on your myUCF account is a scholarship posted?

Aessica, it would be under the financial aid portion of your account. Go to student self service, scroll down and view your financial aid under “View Financial Aid”

Got the Knight’s Achievement Award. Don’t know amount yet, but hoping it’s enough to allow me to go to UCF. Is it always worth 10k?

Pegasus Silver ($9000)

wGPA 4.5
ACT:28
250 hours of community service
24 hours of dual enrollment
lots of extra curriculars

I FINALLY got a Scholarship this morning!
Pegasus Gold ($12000)

28 ACT
4.5 W
200+ Hours
15 Dual Enrollment Credits
Some Extra Curriculars

Congratulations to those who have been waiting for a while!!!

I’m working on an overview of UCF scholarships with amounts/criteria, etc., based on what folks here on the UCF forum received. I’ll post once done…

BUT in the meantime, I’m trying to understand why shelbyy and njfl94 received different amounts based on the same stats…

When did y’all apply for admissions?? Maybe one way before the other and now money is running out???

And, do folks besides National Merit Finalists ever get full rides, meaning tuition PLUS room & board??

Thanks!

I applied in early September. If I had to guess, Id say I got less money because of that. Perhaps they were saving funds for students applying later on with better sats, & in the end they had enough money left to start giving out more. But who knows. My essay may not have been as good.

@mom2them

The highest scholarship they offer, besides National Merit, is Provost scholarship, which I THINK was bumped up to 24k over 4 years for the class of 2016, so it would generally not be enough to cover room and board + tuition.

I was offered that before I found out I was a merit finalist with a

4.0 wgpa
33 ACT
1530/2180 SAT

This was last year, however, so that may skew results for this year. However, two of my roommates got it with lower scores. In addition, they give out very few of those. 79 received the Provost last year and 74 National Merit scholarships were given out.

The averages for the Provost were a 1435 (2 section, obviously) SAT and 4.37 wGPA

Thanks!!

My D (a HS jr) took ACT earlier this month and we just learned that she got a 35 composite! She got a 30 in December and was hoping for a 32-33, which qualifies her for full tuition at 3 schools on her list. We know she is several points off of National Merit, so she doesn’t have that.

But after visiting UCF last week, it is at the top of her list.

From what I’ve gathered, she will likely get the Knights Achievement Award for OOS students. So we are still feeling blessed to get that!!

Thanks to all for sharing your details!

I didn’t realize you were out of state. I think the Knight’s Achievement is 40k over 4 years for OOS. I’m not sure if Provost would be scaled up or if Knight’s Achievement is the equivalent.

Either way, she should get the highest award (besides National Merit) that they offer with those scores.

How many of you have gotten scholarships already? What level of scholarship did you get? What were your stats?

I got the Pegasus Gold Scholarship.

GPA: 4.8
SAT: 1350 (M+CR)
AP Classes: 2
Dual Enrollment Classes: 8
Community Service Hours: 700+

Accepted into Burnett Honors

I’m curious about the Provost Scholarship though…How do I apply (I haven’t found any application on their site)?

You are automatically considered for Provost when you apply to UCF. If you got Pegasus Gold already, you won’t get provost.
