anyone have information on what the progression/qualifications are for each scholarship? i got the deans scholarship, but was kinda surprised.--just curious if things might have changed this year with applications going up so much

Has anyone gotten any of the other merit scholarships yet? Someone who didn't get one of the main scholarships.

Congrats Lariss! When did you hear about Dean's?

thanks tor! ummm, it was waiting for me when i got home from vacation on tuesday, so sometime between the weekend/early week im guessing. im in nj, by the way, and i had gotten my acceptance two weeks before

So, if I didn't get any letter in the mail or any notification on my online account, am I to assume that have not been considered for any scholarships? Weird thing is that UCLA is offering me a relatively large scholarship, but a school like USC won't.

And I'm the other way around. USC is offering me Presidentials, and I know for a fact my stats are WAY lower than the other applicants that are going to Explore USC. However, UCLA is where I'd actually want a scholarship.

I'm pulling this post up from the past to give people a chance to see how things went last year, as well as interview advice. Enjoy!

My S got the acceptace letter from USC! We are very happy :) but what about the scholarships? When do you find out about those?

If your S is being considered for either Trustee or Presidential, you will receive the letter in the next few days. It will give you all the details regarding the next steps.
Congratulations!

Sice he received an acceptance letter relatively early, does it mean he is being considered for these scholarships?

I just added this to the FAQ thread:

I just got admitted- why?
If you have gotten admitted in this early stage, it almost definitely means that you are being considered for one of the larger scholarships that USC offers- either half tuition or full tuition. In the next few days, you will receive a letter explaining the scholarship offer, which of the two scholarships you will be interviewed for, and how the entire process works. I haven't been able to find the actual website for admitted students to access Explore USC yet, but in years past people could figure out which scholarship they would be interviewing for by which dates they could sign up for on that website. More information should be coming soon.

As Sequoia said, yes. He is being considered for either the Trustee or Presidential scholarship. Those who receive these first letters of acceptance are the ones that are asked to come for the interviews for those two scholarships.

Actually, last year you could find out before you received the letter. Don't know if that is the case this year, and maybe some of you might want to wait for the letter. (We couldn't).
I believe the info is there if you log in and go to RSVP for Explore.

I also checked on the Explore RSVP site to find out which scholarship I was being considered for (I am horribly impatient, and couldn't wait for the actual letter to come). This was a few years ago, but I imagine that they will probably use this system again this year.

What's the link for the explore RSVP website?

There is none at this point. It's too early. We'll see in the next couple of days but I don't know if we'll have the same thing that happened last year.

The Explore link looks like it might be working now: Login

It does work!!! I'm trustee!!!

tocollege: how did you find that link?

CONGRATULATIONS!!!

I used it last year.
