Congrats @doglover2001 ! Where is he considering? Are you in the midwest? S19 gave up on Madison too due to the $.
No news here, S is CS if that matters. He has no CS related ECs so hed not sure how colleges will respond. Its going to be interesting and a long wait here.
@drewsmom17 Yes, in midwest and top contenders are IN (Kelley for business), WI (direct admit business), and two in south (South Carolina - super generous merit, lowest cost option) and Tulane (generous merit, but still comes in close similar to WI)
Just received the National $15,000/yr scholarship. For reference, OOS, 33 ACT, 3.79UW/4.11 W GPA. Since I heard back from scholarships w/o notice of Honors, does that mean I’ve not been accepted, or is there still a chance I’ll hear later? Thanks!
Honors is decided based on College of admittance. Here are the latest stats by college (scroll down):

@ariela2001 Did you hear about scholarship via email or snail mail?
You can expect scholarship by snail-mail only. One or two posters have stated that they got a heads up from their AO but that’s the exception, not the norm. The envelope is pretty obvious, and at least in our case didn’t show up on Informed Delivery.
@ariela2001 you said you received the National Scholarship. Are you a transfer student by any chance?
No I’m not, I’m a freshman applicant
I just got mine in the mail today, but it’s not enough to make UMN affordable for me. Declined it, so hopefully that helps one of you.
I received the letter today with a $5k annual National Scholarship. I am very disappointed and might not even bother to visit UMN because it is not affordable anymore. 35 ACT, 3.84 UW GPA…everyone with these stats seems to get at least $10k, and if it really is primarily based on test scores/gpa I think I should have received near the maximum.
@w00pw00p S19 has the same stats and also just got $5k. He applied for CS and being OOS, that is not affordable for us. It’s too bad they are not part of the Midwest Exchange but he’s just moving on.
