Scholarship money?

Hi, I’m new to this but was wondering if anyone could help or direct me to the best place to research scholarship money that might be available to my daughter. She has applied to Auburn and we think that she will be accepted. 28 ACT and a 3.85 unweighted gpa. Auburn Alumni in our town have told us that Auburn does have a lot of scholarship monies available and that the squeaky wheels tend to get the grease. If this is true, any ideas about who we try to talk with and how often, etc. We are Florida residents and my daughter has applied for the Chemical Engineering Program. She will not qualify for “need based” scholarships but sure could use financial help with out-of-state costs. Any help/direction is appreciated!

Here are a list of some scholarships your daughter can look into. They can be stacked.

These are Academic Scholarships for Non-Residents

These are departmental scholarships for the Engineering dept. Links are on the left for the individual fields.

Good Luck!

Thanks and will do!

We talked with Auburn at a recent college fair and were encouraged about possible money. I (Dad) went to AU 1 quarter as a transient student. Son has 1190 2-part SAT, taking again in October as well as ACT. 3.5 unweighted GPA with 8 AP courses and other gifted classes. Planning on exercise science or kinesiology, possible interest in teaching/coaching. With say another 100 point on the SAT, how competitive are we really. We are out-of-state and need every penny, even though I’m sure FAFSA will say we need none.

As it stands now, he would have to raise his SAT 60 points to qualify for a Charter Scholarship. This would give him $5K per year. He would have to maintain a 3.5 GPA, and raise his SAT to 1330 (or get a 30 ACT) to receive a Heritage Scholarship which would give him 2/3 tuition or roughly $15/year.
