"But read posts #15 & #17 first. I am totally shocked! The above posts suggest...."

My posts were a direct reply to Coldwind stating that a nice Jewish girl would be better suited at a school other than Alabama.

There is no need for prejudice on this forum. Lets move on PLEASE!

Ok, back to the full tuition scholarship. I'm pretty sure this question has been answered before, but I don't remember the answer. If I get say a 30-31 ACT my junior year, and a 31 is the highest score I can get by the time I send my EA app in like November or whatever the EA deadline is. So, I'd get the 2/3 tuition scholarship, and 1 ACT point away from 32, full tuition scholly.

So here's the gist of my question: If I can get a 32 ACT or break the 1400 SAT barrier, but in like January of my Senior year, will I be able to send those scores to 'Bama and they would raise my scholarship to full? Or do I keep the 2/3?

Thanks

hawaiiboy, I would call the scholarship office at Bama for the correct answer to your question. Carolyn Rogers, Director of Scholarships phone is 205-348-5666.

The scholarships are automatic but you must apply and be accepted by I think Dec 1st (when I entered) and have like a 3.7 gpa. Alabama actually substantially increased the monetary amount of the automatic scholarships. It actually made me a little mad because they didn't offer that much when I entered, lol.

Honors classes come in two 'flavors'. You have honors sections: ex Chemistry 101 = 150 students vs Honors Chemistry 101 (designated CH 117) = 30-40 students. The material is tougher and sometimes professors more strict.
Then you have UH courses. These are limited to 15 students and range from virtually any topic you can imagine. There's a class called Witches & *****es (I think it takes Desparate Housewives and they analyze it amongst other pop culture). I will be taking a UH class where I help low income families prepare their taxes and another called Mentoring Entrepreneurs (did I spell it correctly) where I will be learning how to write business plans, pitch ideas, etc. Basically everything needed to go from idea to incorporation. I'm most excited about that class. I am also a chemical engineering major in the Computer Based Honors Program. The CBHP was one reason along with the very generous scholarship why I turned down Georgia Tech. I sometimes wish I did attend GaTech because I know the benefits it offers for engineer students are great, but I enjoy the demographics here much more and again, the honors classes. Besides, the dynasty has returned. I'm still convinced we beat ourselves against UF at the SEC championship. ROLL TIDE!
