Hi! I’m currently a Junior and I’m in VA, thinking of applying to UVA, VT, and UCLA. Since UCLA is OOS and I’m not too keen on paying 180k for college, what are some good scholarships that I can apply to if I were to decide to go there? I have a 3.94 GPA and am enrolled in the Governor’s School program and have 4 extracurriculars. Do you think I have a good chance at getting the Regents Scholarship? Also, what are some good ways to save money for college? All help appreciated!
Do not count on getting aid to UCLA. It probably won’t happen.
UCLA will cost $250,000+. Regents Scholarship is top 1.5% of applicant pool - that is extremely difficult.
Forget the UCs.
Look at at PRIVATE colleges. They award FA irrespective of state of residency.
If u have strong stats, look also at public colleges that award MERIT scholarships.
UCLA is $55K per year.
It is a California pubic school funded by California state taxpayers so they are not going to fund an OOS student with California tax money.
