Scholarships

Got my scholarship notification from CLA today!

I got my scholarship notification in the mail yesterday (the 14th)

Telluridegirl, blackandyellow-are you guys OOS, International or in-state ?

I am out of state.

Do you have to submit intent to enroll in order to be eligible for scholarships?

You don’t have to enroll to get scholarships.

Last year it seemed like the out of state kids heard about merit based scholarships before the in state kids. (for CSE and CLA)

Tellurdegirl-Thanks for your previous answer. Seems like it will take some time for international students to be notified about the global excellence scholarship.sigh

Are people still receiving scholarships in the mail, or at what point can I assume that I’m not getting one?

I haven’t received any yet too. My friend (#4 in class, all honors/AP, 31 Act) received only 3k so it’s definitely competitive. He’s in CBS, though was not invittd to honors.

Sent from my LG-P509 using CC

My daughter received 33k initially and today she received another 4k. She was accepted to Carlson honors and she is from NJ. Still waiting to hear back from other schools.

My son received the maroon scholarship(2500/year) about 2 weeks ago. We are oos, 31act and accepted into engineering. Not invited to honors.

I’m still waiting for any scholarship notice. I’m getting worried I’m not going to get anything :(.

(31 ACT, 3.9GPA, in state, admitted to CSE)

Just got a reply from UMN International admissions office. They are mailing the acceptance letter (and a global excellence scholarship letter hopefully !) again tomorrow. Really annoyed !!

My daughter received her financial award letter from UMN a couple of days ago. All of the cost (after our EFC) was met through loans that my daughter and we (her parents) would take out, and work study. Essentially, we would be paying the entire cost. We are out of state. Parental loans would total $84K for all four years. Her other option is in state (University of Illinois) but our cost there is about the same as UMN oos.

If she was receiving any sort of scholarship from UMN, would that notification arrive separately?

When I received my financial aid award estimates a week ago, my scholarships were listed on there. I did get a separate letter for scholarships earlier in March.

Thanks, EliteVeteran. That helps a lot.

Well, I just got another scholarship that was not listed in my financial aid estimates. The first scholarship was school wide, the second one that I just got was school specific - Carlson School of Management.

So you might have a chance.
