Scholarships

and what about the danforth's?

I believe that the Danforth, Ervin, Rodriguez and a few other programs are either in the process or will be within the next few days.

Danny, I applied to Olin (Dean's). Haven't heard back from them either way. Looking over posts from last year, there didn't seem to be many people on CC that applied for it either. Still, there are many applicants -- apparently they just don't like CC. As far as timing goes, it seems it's one of the last decisions released. I'm crossing my fingers!!!

Haha, mine are crossed as well. Perhaps I'll be seeing you some weekend in St. Louis in late March...

Sounds good! haha

once we find out that we are finalists do we need to make transportation arrangements or does the school do this for us?

If you are a semifinalist, you will be invited to WashU for Scholars Interview weekend (March 23 - 26). WashU will take care of all expenses, including transportation. Shortly after notification, a coordinator from WashU will contact you and arrange for travel to WashU. I believe that invitations for the Danforth, Rodriguez, Ervin and a few other programs should be received sometime next week. Attendance is mandatory in order to receive any merit awards.

are all notifications sent through snail mail, email, or both?

i think alot of the time they give you a call and supplement that by snail mail and/or email.

I just recieved a phone call to be notified that I am an Ervin Scholars finalist!

ok i got called abt rodriguez today..does anyone know how many ppl they invite for interviews and how many of those get it?

do they notify that by e-mail? cuz i'm in'tl ;(

If you interview, you have a strong chance of getting the scholarship; they wouldn't spend the money to fly you to St. Louis if they didn't have a high probability of giving you a scholarship.

notifications are out, apparently they had 1,200 applicants for the rodriguez program, for those of you who applied for that one. I am not sure how many finalists were selected. Letters are out, only a letter, im not sure about e-mails... but be expecting something in the next few days..

What about Danforth?

Yeah, I got my letter telling me I didn't make it to the Rodriguez finals...well thats okay I guess, Im an Ervin finalist and I suppose thats enough...one can't get all the scholarships I suppose

Did all the scholarship acceptees, in particular Rodriguez scholarship acceptees, get notified by the telephone first and then have a letter sent in confirmation? Does that me that I am not a finalist since I have not received a phone call? I still haven't received a letter; I think I'll prb receive some sort of letter tomorrow, March 3 or the Saturday.

Any idea how many people were chosen for Rodriguez scho. by the way?

I applied for rodriguez and still have heard nothing so far - no phone call, no mail (yet). Does this mean I probably did not make the cut?

engineering and university scholars letters are out, negative on both for me :(
