Do you have to fill out the financial aid thing to recieve scholarships? because I didnt fill out anything, but I thought the scholarships were merit based. So does that mean that any scholarships that one may recieve is in your acceptance letter?

hello?.......

yes financial aid should be in your acceptance packet.

wait..so -if I recieved any scholarships it should be in my packet even though I didnt fill out the financial aid forms?

im curious too.. is the message above true?

No, you don't need to apply for f/a to receive a scholarship. And yes, scholarship info should have been included with your letter of acceptance.

egh..weak then. looks like loans for me. i don't think i deserved the invites in this case, i had my hopes up for at least one of those 1g packages. egh.

About scholarships...my friend got a 13K CAS scholarship to NYU and I didn't receive anything but we have really similar stats...the scholarships are based on merit right? Is there any set guideline as to who receives a scholarship?

They are a combination of need and merit based.

i just received my acceptance letter today! along with a $16,000 scholarship for CAS, did anyone receive anything similar? they didn't say what it was for.
