I posted this in a new thread, but no one answered...so i'm gonna try my luck in a new one.

what is the highest amount of merit-based scholarship that you have heard of rice awarding to a single student?

i looked on rice's website, and the only full-tuition scholarship is for engineering applicants...which i am not =(

That's what I've heard; what it says on the website. But the financial aid is pretty good, and they meet 100% of "need" with grants, workstudy and only a small amount of loans, so IF you have financial need you'll be okay. If you don't have financial need, then technically speaking, it means you and your parents have the ability to pay for your education without help, and you'll be okay also. :)

there's no scholarship interview weekend is there? they just give the scholarships based on the app? when does notificaiton come? with admissions letter or no? are scholarship offers posted online as well?

I dont think that scholarship offers are online. When my brother applied to Rice he was able to check his admission online..but we didnt know he had also won the Barbara Jordan scholarship until his acceptance letter and financial aid award came.

Last year DD got an acceptance email on March 30th, the day they mailed letters and packets. It was a Friday, though. so they did the last weekday before the 1st. The scholarship info was not in the email. I don't remember if it was on-line, though.
