Please call Jami Gates on Monday 205-348-5599

Her job is NM and NM recruitment. She will find out what’s going on with your D’s scholarship. Also, tell her about the wrong responses that you’ve been getting.

Let me know how that goes.

Tell your D not to worry. SHE definitely will get the big scholarship. Right now Bama is overwhelmed with an enormous amount of applications. They anticipated a big number this year, but the apps have exceeded that expectation.

I’m too a NH scholar from California applied in Oct. around the same time as Critters D. I got notification of a UA Presidential Scholarship about few days after I got notification of my acceptance in Nov. Still have not seen the other “goodies” (other than the $19k/yr for OOS) that was mentioned in the recruiting certificate (room board & etc.). Maybe like other colleges, the scholarships letter would trigger in slowly, maybe after the FAFSA or scholarships deadlines.

Sms, I agree that letters detailing more of what you’ll be receiving if you attend UA will come later in the year after UA gets a number of things squared away like FAFSA and admission deposits. Just to let you know, NMF, NHRP, and NAP scholarships do not include food, you will have to pay that yourself along with course fees (not very expensive).

I’m thinking that UA thinks that Critter’s D already has rec’d the Presidential notice, but is asking about the other notification about housing, etc.

That’s why I would call Jami on Monday and have her “cut thru” the clutter and find out what’s what.

sms92: You won’t get notification about the other NM goodies (i.e. room, laptop, stipend, and study abroad/research funds) until you advance to NMF from NMSF which won’t be announced until Feb 9th. Even then, I think you have to name UA your 1st choice with NM.

Does anyone know if there is any likelihood of merit money if you missed the 12/1 deadline? I know that was the priority deadline but I wasn’t sure if that was THE deadline. Thanks!

Dec was the actual deadline per se, but there is still a chance of money if the student applied later, but they won’t know until March. When were the admissions and scholarship applications submitted?
