Scholastic Art and Writing Awards

awesome! I had almost totally ruled out the chance that I could have won. Because I know someone who get a gold key in art, but none of the people I know who have wrote something have heard anything.

Yep--I was so glad when I heard that too :)

We will be receiving notification soon

I just got gold key notification today for the nyc region :)

patois that's awesome. Was it for art or writing?

Art, photography specifically.

Congrats, patois! :D Huzzah for photography, <3.

Well guys...I guess we all just have to wait. If we eventually hear something, so be it. If not, at least we participated. :) If you win, you WILL be notified, so just wait and see.

I entered art, so I guess I probably didn't get anything, but congrats to those who did. ^_^

sort of wondering. Did anyone actually call and ask about this? Or is this just speculation, rumors that you've heard (about the awards still being presented)

How did Region at Large people find out? Email? Normal mail? I remember that earlier in the thread that teachers told them... anybody find out through this way?

this is really confusing. i remember when my teacher entered me freshman year, she sent in my actual painting. then i got some letter in march saying it was shipped to nationals and i got a gold key for RAL. this year, i entered some stuff on a CD (i think the instructions said to send multiple CD's, but i just put everything on one CD) and i have no clue how the regionals/nationals even work. so all the RAL peoples' stuff get forwarded to nationals for judging?

evilspork, I know from Scholastic themselves that we will be hearing soon

damn you and your sources on the inside :)

Ha. If I had 'connections,' I would be bothering those poor people EVERY. DAY.

I've only emailed them once, after I realized I forgot to register a submission and the online system adamantly refused to listen to me.

the online system was basically the worst thing ever. i hate being a guinea pig for new, weird technology. my favorite part was how you couldn't go back and fix your mistakes.

what is the URL for this infamous online system?

They shut it down because registration is over.

oh because i got an e-mail...

"Thank you for registering your profile. You can use your email ID/student ID to login to the system.

Here is your login information which is to be used to access your Home page going forward."

What does that mean? they sent me it but where is this home page they are talking about? They sent it to me on Feb. 22 and i've been trying to find "my home page" ever since.

did anyone else get a similar e-mail?

I'm practically dying of suspense. Any updates from the people reading now?

I got the same email at the same time as you. It basically allowed me to access the online site registration system (I submitted mine by paper)... It just shows your school name, the pieces you submitted and all the info that you sent in. Nothing special. lol.
