This is probably a stupid question, but if an application asks for a school email address (in the section asking for information about the school, i.e. the address, phone number, etc), they are just asking for my school email address right? They aren’t asking for an email address for the school right?
Thanks!
(And sorry if this isn’t in the right category. I couldn’t seem to find a just applications category.)
Based on my (relatively limited and only recently acquired) experience with filling out college applications, I get the feeling the form is asking you for your school or guidance counselor’s email address, not yours. Did they ask you for your own personal email address anywhere else? I’ve never seen an application ask for a student’s school email address, especially considering the fact that many high schools do not even have such email services. Regardless, don’t fret over that particular issue too much; if you have already provided your own email address elsewhere, just list the school’s email address in this particular field (and if you can’t find one, just list your own student email address). As long as the college can contact you, you’re fine. The college can easily contact the high school through other means (such as the telephone number you probably have to list).
They did ask for my email address earlier. However, most high schools don’t have their own general email right? I don’t think my school does as I cannot find one for them. They also already asked for the email of my head of school (although I don’t know what good that would do them as I have never even met the head of school and most people haven’t either) already. Ah, I wish they would be more clear!
That is supposed to be your guidance counselor’s email if they’re asking about the school.
I’ll put that then. Thanks!
