I have recently been requesting information from all the schools I'm planning to applying to. However, I can't complete my request for a few schools because they can't find my school/don't let me type in my CEEB code myself so it keeps on saying the request is incomplete!

My question is, how should I go about requesting information then? Should I send an email and what would I say in it? I don't want to 'ruin' my chances because of an unprofessional email or something (a little dramatic here but you get the idea). I don't have many options to show interest since I'm an international student so this is pretty important for me :P

In the email just say you are interested in receiving information about the college. Say you’re currently a student at ---- high school in ----- [city], ---- [country]. You are interested in studying ----- and this school has piqued your interest. Give your name and mailing address; include your email address. Then close the email with a thank you.

Thank you so so much SlackerMomMD - that’s exactly what I was asking for! :)

T26E4: well since I’m international it’s one of the few ways in which I can actually show my interest in a school because I can’t visit or interview! I also like getting things in the mail :P

I piled all of the mail I got from colleges into a cabinet, and after a few months I pulled it all out and it made a stack at least 4 feet tall. It seemed pretty ridiculous and wasteful for the colleges to send all these glossy, full color brochures when I hadn’t expressed a specific interest.
But let’s be honest - all that mail did make me feel pretty awesome.
