major: chem and music performance?? undecided???

The School of Music at Yale is not an undergraduate institution. It's a professional school. There is no music performance degree for undergrads at Yale. Yale College's Department of Music is part of the School of Arts and Sciences. So an undergraduate can major in music, but the degree he or she receives is a BA, not a BM. There are, however, great music opportunities for undergrads.

Yale has in the past had (and I think still has) a 5-year combined BA/MM program. Students can be admitted to the conservatory any time from freshman through the end of junior year.
