Did anybody hear about this highschool shooting in Minnesota? It occurred at Red Lake highschool by a student. 8 are confirmed dead, including the student shooter, who killed his grandparents beforehand. I just wanted to give my condolences to everyone devestated by this tragedy.

I heard about it and I am very concerned. A few years ago, when I was in a fellowship program, a member of the program who is Native American invited me to visit her family in that area. She lived in Bemidji, and most of her family lived on that reservation, which I also visited.

Everyone was incredibly nice to me. I can not describe more how kind and generous the Indian community was.

Her daughter now would be of high school age, and may go to that school. I also think that her sister was a teacher in the school. The community is very close and many are related so I fear that the tragedy has directly touched my former friend's life. I have not been in touch with her for several years, and don't want to call out of the blue on such a tragic occasion.

My heart goes out to everyone there.

I read about it, and it greatly saddened me. My best wishes and deepest condolences go out to those people.

It scares me a lot, too. At my school, it would be ridiculously easy to bring in a gun or weapon and kill/injure a bunch of people.

I was looking up something for school and saw that. Sometimes, I really hate this place we live in. People are sick.

Even though I'm not religious, I do pray that everyone involved will be ok.

It's especially easy for those of you who live in a country that allows just about anyone to get a gun. I can't understand how anyone would consider that a good idea.
