Not to be the bearer of bad news but the new school year is coming in pretty quickly for some of us (lucky us..) and as you can cleary see...this thread pertains to school supplies. I've come up with a new resolution to keep myself organized to lessen the chances of losing any important assignments or forgetting any important dates. Unfortuantely for me...I am pretty clueless when it comes to these things so I have a proposition to you fellow CC-ers: list your classes by subject (last year's or even this year's) and detail what you've used to help stay organize and perhaps...you can give me some revisions to my list :3

-game face- Here's mine: THIS YEAR'S PROPOSED SUPPLY LIST:!!!!

AP Lang: 1.5" binder, 7-8 tabs, pencils, highlighters, paper, prepbook
AP US history: 1.5" binder, 7-8 tabs, pencils, highlighters, paper, colored pencils, prepbook
AP Biology: 1.5" binder, 7-8 tabs, pencils, highlighters, paper, lab notebook, prepbook
AP Calculus: 1.5" binder, 7-8 tabs, pencils, highlighters, paper, ti-89 calculator, prepbook
French 3: 1" binder, 4-6 tabs, pencils, highlighters, paper,
Anatomy: 1" binder, 7-8 tabs, pencils, highlighters, paper, (other than these, I'm actually pretty clueless of as to what to get)
Planner, folders, and...that's it I guess :D

I usually keep recent stuff in one binder/ dividers. The rest I put in large storage binders either in my locker or at home. No use to carry around old homeworks/tests most of the time.

Most novels for English go in my locker.

I have one pencil and eraser. One or two pens max. 1 folder for extra binder/graph paper. My school is spread out so I hate going to my locker.

The one storage binder thing actually sounds like a really good idea, I don’t actually like the thought of going to my locker more than 2x a day so that sounds pretty good! (though I’ve consistently done that and when I did…the gates of hell were unleashed…like I said before, I’m PRETTY unorganized, freshman year, the contraption that held all my papers in my binder was unhinged and was pretty much left hanging the rest of the second semester, the papers were all mashed in a horrid mass [shudders])

color coding! get everything for a single subject in the same color
like if you want to make ap calc blue
get a blue binder, blue notebook, blue pencils, blue paper!!! EVERYTHING IS BLUE IN THE WORLD OF AP CALC

EVERYTHING
if i knew bbcode better this post would be blue

I use those five star spiral notebooks for all class notes and homework. They’re pretty big so if I have a class with a lot of notes it’s good and if I have two classes with less notes then I can combine both classes into one notebook. So I’ll probably end up having like 4 notebooks for 6 classes. Then I’ll have one five star folder per class for handouts and stuff. It takes up a lot less space then having 6 big binders that always need to be emptied out, and I’m not organized enough to have one of those huge 5 subject binders. Plus it’s amazing never having to deal with loose leaf paper falling out of your binder or anything like that.

I haven’t done any shopping yet. I still have over half my summer left.

I usually just buy a folder and some loose leaf paper for most of my classes except for those that require a lot of note taking. They’re lucky enough to get entire notebooks -- but yeah I just buy some pens and pencils and stuff at the beginning of the school year and then buy more supplies as need be during the year. I too am a major color coder. Kind of a bad habit though I hate binders, it feels like a folder does the same job in less space… Makes me so mad when a teacher demands an individual binder for her class --

I get composition notebooks for all of my classes, along with matching folders :). I love them so much more than spiral notebooks because they don’t have wires that can get snagged on stuff.

I also get a special folder for all of my homework ;D

Honors English: 70-page notebook, pencil, highlighter, paper
Honors Algebra 2: Four spiral notebooks(two for notes; two for classwork and homework) 2 inch thick binder
Spanish: One composition notebook and paper and pencil
Honors Chemistry: Small binder, pencil, paper, 70-page notebook
Art History: Binder
Information Processing: Nothing

@pandamic UGH wire snagging is the worst!!! I always tell myself to pull notebooks out slowly from my locker but I have those days where I’m running late and have to snatch them out. Then they either get caught on another notebook or a metal part of the locker sticking out and BAM ruined notebook. -___- especially annoying when it’s a giant loop of wire pulled and it just looks awkward and weird on your notebook.

-I need clothing. It’s an upsetting fact but it can not be avoided. It’s not the end of the world. But you have to buy it. (Basically I’m saving up and clothes seem like a really petty thing to want)
6 notebooks
8 folders
A backpack (Another sucky fact of life)
High lighters
binders (Idk how many I’ll wait till school starts to decide)
-Secret chocolate stash

Do any of you use Mead Notebinders? I’ve had mine for years they’re amazing. I get one for each class & stick a folder in it; it already comes with lined and graph paper and 5 dividers 3 with pockets and 2 that are like pocket protectors.

I’ve heard good things about Notebinders, but they’re kinda pricey. And I don’t really know how they work lol. I get a plastic folder for each class and the usual pens, pencils, and paper. I only get a binder if a teacher requires it. Three of my teachers do so I use the same 1.5" binder for all three classes. I also only get a spiral notebook (hate composition books) if a teacher requires it or if a class if note- heavy (in which case the teacher requires it). I’m kind of a minimalist.
