School Supplies Sale?

I'm looking for some five subject notebooks and some 1-1.5" binders. Anyone know where they have a good deal?

I suspect Target, WalMart, Staples, Office Max, Office Depot, Savon, RiteAid, CVS, Longs, etc would all have those things for fairly cheap.

Unless you're looking to buy once you get here, then you'd have Ralphs or CVS or RiteAid or Ackerman.

But yeah. The price on stuff like that is not going to waiver greatly between stores.

Are binders still widely use by college students?

Not really. Not enough loose handouts to warrant binders, especially not more than one or two tops.

I haven't used a binder at all.

I bought two one subject 6-pack for 60 cents...and a box of pens

are you crying yet, allie? :)

Yes, actually. Big fatty tears.

I was going to post that I am drowning in a deep river of salty tears Through the Looking Glass style but I didn't think anyone would remember how deeply the inane, redundant threads hurt me.

Thank you for thinking of me during this hard time.

:)

staples had mead five star premier 1 subject notebooks (100 sheet) on sale for 75 cents a couple weeks back. i stocked up. :)

Target has some good deals on stuff. Back when I was a freshman they had a ridiculous sale on 70 page one suject notebooks. I stocked up on them then and haven't had to buy a notebook ever since. I don't remember the exact price but I'm pretty sure they were less than 50 cents each, they're not fancy but you can't beat the price.

On a related note, you can get a lot of your pens and pencils free on campus. Of course I'd bring a few from home just to be sure, but people give away pens and pencils pretty often at Bruin Walk and for various events. I haven't had to buy one in a whlie.

Those Target notebooks are 10 for $1. Sweeeeeeeeeeeeet deal. I got 50 for 5 bucks in 8th grade and still have a ton left.

i had a bunch of notebooks from various sales several years ago. running low on those so i stocked up on five star ones. i would have gone for target ones but they never have college rule! i just cant stant wide rule. it makes me write bigger lol.

I can't believe we're discussing the nuances of various notebooks.

I think school really needs to start.

But allie...the 20 cent difference between a five star 1 subject notebook and a mead 1 subject is quite a difference. I have my laptop for notes. If for some reason, I need pen and paper, I can always buy some at Ackerman. :) The bucket is filling up with your tears...better switch buckets soon.

NO. Because if you buy it at Ackerman you might have to pay retail and zomg $1.50 is just too much to handle. The bank will be broken.

And yeah. We ran out of buckets hours ago. 3,826 sandbags have been ordered to save the innocents from the resulting floods of Hurricane AllieCannotStandTheInaneDrivelAnyLonger. THAT'S how much I'm crying over this crap.

It makes me sad.

VTEC you should have said something! 5 Stars for 75c!! That's like less than half of its original price? :D

its ok, i'm sure they'll have it again next year. :D

I thought thatt 5 stars were close to $3, and for 5 subjects, it would be $8!

Who uses notebooks nowadays when you have the convenience of a laptop?

south campus students where its impossible to "type" diagrams, drawings, symbols, equations, etc on the fly with a laptop.

you guys make me feel bad...i use the mead 5star, covered spiral notebooks for $5 each. i know it's a lot, but i think it's worth it considering covers and pages of those cardboard-covered notebooks get ripped off in my backpack.
