I love both of these schools a lot, however there are drawbacks to each. Fordham has competitive admissions, but not to bad. It is their financial aid that comes as an issue for me. Georgetown, amazing financial aid but extremely competitive admissions. I love the aspect of having a campus in the city and I like but both schools stand for. Are there schools out there that have the campus in the city, competitive but not ivy league level admissions rates, and good financial aid? Please do not list the obvious other Jesuit colleges, as I have looked into them and do not really like them. Thanks guys! (BTW I am a prospective business major.

I recommend U of Rochester, a very under appreciated school.

As a general rule of thumb, the more selective the school, the better the need-based aid. So yes, it can be hard to find schools that are not too selective, yet have excellent need-based aid … especially after you add on other criteria.

So you’ve checked out all the other Jesuit colleges? What don’t you like about Loyola University MD? It is urban. It is less selective than Georgetown, with better aid than Fordham (98% of students’ need is fully met at L v. ~24% at F; average pct of need met is 97% at L v. ~74% at F). Business is one of Loyola’s most popular majors.

Case Western is urban (though Cleveland isn’t exactly NYC). It is less selective than Georgetown but still has a good academic reputation (and attracts many high-scoring students). It has fairly good financial aid (better than Fordham’s but not as good as Loyola’s).

The University of Richmond seems to meet all your criteria. Its aid is better than Fordham’s or Case Western’s (about as good as Georgetown’s, it appears). It is less selective than Georgetown but more so than Fordham. Business is one of its most popular majors.
