Schools that don't weight SAT that much

Does anyone know any decent schools or good schools that happen to weight SAT scores in a liberal fashion. Perhaps around 20-30 percent of an applicants credentials? Or less...

bumpity bump! haha my test scores are not out of this world brilliant either.

trust me, every college looks at ur SATs first. i got good grades and ecs but they didnt give me scholarship. SAT is to blame.

they don't look at SAT's first, definitely not. GPA is the priority thay look at. Then it is the SAT scores.

You could instead look at colleges that don't require the SATs (Sarah Lawrence, Bates, etc)

I've heard that uchicago doesn't weight the sat as much as other schools do. they look at your grades, the difficulty of your courses, and your essays first.

I know how you feel. I have a real strong GPA, real strong athletic/EC record, but my SAT score is crap. I never really knew how much the SAT was weighted until my sophomore year. Before then, I though they were a minor factor, but I guess I was pretty stupid to think that way. I can't believe one 2 hour and 45 minute test can screw someone over. Tsk. I hope ETS burns in hell.

If you go on the UChicago tour, you'll hear admissions officers complain about how many times they have to tell students that they don't care about SATs at all. More than likely, they don't consider SATs at all.

MIT has stopped giving the SAT very much attention in the past years as well, although this policy may be overturned after the resignation of Marilee Jones. Even with the work she did, however, it is more than likely that there is still quite a bit of weight put on SATs, just not as much as rival institutions.

Oh please, MIT gets those amazing SAT averages while hardly looking??@%*!

^It's more that they are willing to accept more students who don't have perfect scores on the virtue of other achievements/personal qualities.

bowdoin is sat optional

k so i met someone yesterday who was going to harvard with a 2020 and no outstanding extracurriculars. obviously what got him in was not his SAT score: he said it was good grades, good essays, and good recs
