schools that say HS transcripts and SAT scores are "not required" - should i send?

i just finished freshman year of college, with 60 credits. im applying as a transfer student to: pratt institute, temple university (tyler school of art), maryland institute college of art, syracuse universtiy, rochester institute of technology, and school of visual arts.

when i called all these schools, many of them said that my HS transcript and SAT scores are "not required, but you can send them if you want". this is a really frustrating answer, because now i dont really know what the schools want. im fairly happy about my SAT scores and HS transcript, so i would like to send them, but im worried about colleges thinking i cant follow basic instructions such as "SAT and HS transcripts are "not required"" -

should i send them anyways?

They aren't required, but if you think it'll print a better picture of the type of student you are then I say go for it. In no way will you be penalized for sending them in.

Use it that to your advantage. If you have a strong HS record and SAT score, then send them in. If not, then don't send them in.

I transfered to Temple from CCP and I think it's best just to send all you have. If you did well, then it certainly wouldn't hurt...

In other words, if you have a strong high school record and SAT score, it'd be stupid not to send them in.

ok it sounds pretty clear then... thanks for the feedback

You finished your freshman year of college with 60 credits! Holy cow!

Art schools are not that interested in your academic record, only your portfolio. Of course that is a generalization.

My advice is to only send what they request, as there is probably a reason as to why they do not require HS transcripts or SAT scores. If you feel the overwhelming need to send them anyways, I would suggest that you contact the perspective schools beforehand and ask if it would be okay.

thanks baracuta - i called all the schools, and they all said i could send them if i wanted to, so ive decided it probably wouldnt hurt if i did
