schools with good engineering and music?

my girlfriend and i are both looking to transfer away from a cc in florida. i'm an engineering major and she's a music major, and we'd like to find a school that offers good programs in both. right now we're considering schools in florida, but we might want to find one in nyc/long island.

as of now, her number one choice is fsu, and mine is either uf or umiami. can anyone help us out with some schools that we should apply to, taking into consideration the criteria i have provided?

FSU’s music program is second to none in Florida. FSU’s engineering program is likely in third place. However, the pairing is quite good and you could always go to GaTech for graduate work in engineering.

Vanderbilt or Johns Hopkins if you’re looking out of state

How in the world would you pay for schools in NY OOS?

about paying for OOS in NY…

yeah we kinda agreed to stay in state lol. she has florida prepaid and i have bright futures anyway, so we don’t wanna waste those.

but yeah i know fsu is the best for music… but their engineering school is shared with famu’s. i think realistically, our options are fsu, uf, miami, ucf, and usf.

University of Rochester. Although the economics of leaving Florida don’t make sense. You can always go elsewhere for grad school.

If you just want to be in the same city or metro area, Boston offers excellent, albeit very selective, music schools and engineering programs (MIT, New England Conservatory, Berklee, Olin, et al).

If you are willing to look elsewhere besides Florida, I suggest Carnegie Mellon and Cal Berkeley.

Michigan is excellent in both areas.

Carnegie Mellon, Johns Hopkins, Michigan, Northwestern and Rice are all powerhouses in Engineering and Music.
