Trixee + forizzle
I think it said "Dad looked up at the grey sky and I looked up..."
There was grey, but it never said that the color was a result of the birds.

ehh Whatever... I just thought thin film would mean they were close together.. I already screwed this test up beyond repair by not finishing reading so I really could care less.
The Sin A Sin B one was definitely 1 though. I was very pleased with myself when I got that. I remember you had to factor out 1/cos or something

Yeah but the question asked what best illustrates the large amount of birds in the sky.

Hung over the sky like a dark cloud best illustrates that because if they flew in a V they couldn't have stretched over the sky, thin film or not.

For the geese one i think it was "passed over our heads like a cloud" or something like that. Since....question was asking how to make the speaker support his story and he was talking about their numbers ect.

For sinA + sinB problem, it was obvious what they were looking for......trig identity so didnt even have to solve it

DJ is back!

it was the root of p^2+4...something like that i'm pretty sure..just plugged it in distance formula and got it
[/quote]
thats what i put! lol

but wasnt it like in square root form? like (p^2+4) ^ (1/2)

and i put thin film :( I remember he was recalling a memory about birds and then if the question asked something about it being closed together, then thin film made sense lol

?? Thin film doesn't make much sense. It makes it sound pretty gross. :D Also, a V-shape of ducks really doesn't look like a thin film across the sky...A dark cloud didn't match the tone of the sentence either (too gloomy). I put no change.

I was going to put no change.....but thin filmed looked good to me, i dunno!

Anyways, does anyone remember the distance formula question?

(p^2+4)^(1/2)?

I am pretty confident it was:
Find the distance between (p-1,p) and (p-1,2p)
so...... {(p-1-p-1)^2+(2p-p)^2}^1/2 = {4+p^2}^1/2

yeah, that's right for the distance problem.

anyone have any ideas for what the curves will be like?

actually, i can't remember which it was, but one of the x coordinates would've had to be p+1 or else the 1's would cancel out and you'd be left with a 0 distance in the x.

what was the answer to the matrix one again?

it was choice B

i still have it in my calculator LOL. its
[0 1
-1 0]

what was the matrix question ? haha.. bad memory

[3
-5] x T =

[5
3]

I think I guessed correctly on the matrix question. Something about the ACT makes it easy to guess. Why is this test so awesome?

...or...seemingly awesome. Seeing as I don't have my first scores yet. Hmm.

i guessed wrong on the matrix, even though my gut feeling was saying that the -1 was on the other side, i left it as is.

I hope the curves are in all our favors. lol

hahaha yep.

Is the ACT made so that you can't finish on time? On the SAT I have a good 5 min. after each section to go back and check my work. On the ACT, the only part that I actually finish is the English and essay.

I thought the reading questions were easy, but on the ACT they ask such detailed questions, so that you have to go back to the passage and look for the answer. On the SAT most of the reading questions are either vocab. or some sort of analyzing, making it much easier to complete on time. I know if I had a good five extra minutes on the reading, I could have pulled a 34 or 35. The questions are easy, but there is not enough time. I guess that is the point.

ACT math also sucks, but thats probably because I only have half a semester of Alg. 2 under my belt.

The science questions are pretty easy, but they're time consuming as hell.

Essay was incredibly simple. It wasn't hard to take a side and support it with details.

I don't know why people complain about the SAT. It actually makes you think. The ACT is a good test for people who work fast and memorize, memorize, memorize. Ugh!!!
