Score receipients?

When the collegeboard.com site says you're sending your scores to some place, what does that mean? What are the colleges going to do with it once they receive it? I mean, I'm not even applying to any of the universities yet and my score isn't all that great.

don't send until you actually start applying to colleges

will the colleges not accept it?

anyone?? why don;t send untill i start applying to colleges?

So that you can send your latest scores... if you take it again you'd have to resend and each is college is $8 ... it just works against you, its best to wait

No, isn't like the first 4 colleges free but you add on the cash if you want to send to more?

And what do they do with the scores? Do they keep them if you plan on taking the SATs again?

I don't think sending in your scores early will be of any advanage. I don't know what they do with the scores before you apply. I know that colleges keep a record once you send in your application, so they can add test scores to your file later on.

I suspect most of you will apply to more than 4 colleges, so like FrddyGV said, the price adds up if you retake old tests or take new tests later on.

Cali45, u said the colleges keep a test record once i sent in my application so like if i send my score to the first 4 colleges which are free is okay?

You could always save those free ones for when you apply to colleges.

Actually, I think you'll find a much better answer to your question if you call collegeboard or a college you're interested in applying. =P

but CB says i just have 8 days to change my score recipients...so does it mean i have to decide which schools to send to in 8 days or i'll permantely lose the free choices? :(

Wait, so if I send my scores in this year as a junior, I no longer have any more free score recipients for my next taking of the test?!?!?!

No, you get 4 free scores sends PER SAT Reasoning Test.

what if i have 4 scores that i didnt use from a previous test, then i take them again in june, do i then have 8 free scores or only 4
