Score Sending?? what??

I'm SUPER confused about the whole score sending thing for both the SAT and ACT. Do I have to pay 9.50 (8.50 for the ACT) for EACH school that i send my scores to? there seems to be a limit on the number of colleges i can send scores to, as well. And when should I send my scores? I haven't paid for any of my applications yet since i'm applying online and have not finished my essays.

Our guidance counselors send the SAT and ACT score reports with our transcripts...

yeah ours do too but all of my colleges require scores to be sent directly from the testing agency, unfortunately.

NO, NO, NO. Do not get fooled into the idea that your guidance counselor can send your SAT/ACT scores. There are only a HANDFUL of schools that allow you to use institutionalized versions.

For pretty much any university, you will have to pay the additional fees for sending additional score reports (minus the ones included with your test.) That does mean $9.50 for the SAT and $8.50 for the ACT per college.

Send your scores ASAP. You don't want the scores to not get there in time.

I've only taken the SAT so I'm only familiar with the SAT. The SAT gives you four for free. If you took the SAT with a fee waiver, you get eight for free (four additional on top of the standard four). I applied to eight schools so I sent my first four for free and paid $38 to send it to the other four.

sigh, it's total bull that sending scores costs $9.50. i've spent so much money on collegeboard related shiz, it's so sad!

All of mine were sent to the universities I am applying to and they have all accepted those scores.

Well, it really does depend..... you just have to make sure that the university to which you're applying accepts those scores.

I personally am only applying to one college that accepts the ACT/SAT on my transcript.

i applied to 4 colleges and only 1/4 required my scores to be sent directly from the testing agency. this also happened to be the most prostigious school of the 4...

wdrmhbs- what schools did you apply to?

I've never heard of a single school that would accept that. All of my schools specifically state that it has to come from collegeboard/actorg.

When you sign up for the SAT, it lets you send scores to 4 school for free. Thank God I did that earlier this year because it covered my UCs. All I had to pay was $10 to send them again but this time to CSUMentor(all Cal States)

Does anyone know how long it takes for the ACT to send scores to the schools? Am I screwed if the scores didn't make it from the ACT by EA deadline? Think I just got bumped to RD.

I know Augustana in Illinois takes the score from the transcript.
