SCRIPPS ACT QUESTION (please respond asap)!

I am applying Early Decision 2 to Scripps, and I am not sure what to do about sending my ACT scores. Apparently Scripps super-scripts the scores, so they only really look at the highest score in each category, but I'm worried about sending all of my scores because some of them are not good. My highest composite score is a 28 with (English: 34, Math: 25, Reading:30, Science 22), but I don't want to JUST send that score because the 22 in science is really bad. I have my scores from the other ACT I took in october, but the composite is only a 26 with (English: 30, Math: 23, Reading: 25, Science: 27), but the science is higher and on this one even though the scores are lower, it says that i am ready for college level courses in these areas. I am worried if i only send the first one that scripps will think i can't do science, but am also worried about them seeing the lower scores of the other one. ADVICE, HELP???!!!!...i have to send them really soon...deadline is coming up for ED2. thanks so much!!!!!!!!!!

I don’t think the ACT is a great way to determine success in college. As long as you have had success in actual science classes in high school, I don’t think the score would be a problem. Test scores are only one component that’s considered, so as long as other parts of your application are good, it should be fine.

Also, I think Scripps (and other post-secondary institutions) realize the imperfections of the ACT (differing scores based on eating breakfast, things on a test taker’s mind, etc.), so the differing in scores doesn’t really matter.

The ACT is abstract; you can learn stuff from it, sure, but it is really nothing in comparison to showing Scripps who are you on the application. Good luck :)

send both of them, if they really do superscore, your scores will be fine, but make sure they superscore the ACT.
