SDSU GPA calculator

Hi, I have a question about the SDSU GPA calculator. I go to an academic high school in Tennessee that has all honors courses. Do I get extra points for the honors courses I have taken? I have also taken dual-enrollment psychology. SDSU is my dream school. This isn’t a discussion about costs. Thanks

The CSU/UC GPA calculator only accepts UC approved Honors courses for California HS’s. OOS applicants can only get the extra honors points for AP/IB or DE courses.

That’s so ridiculous. I could have a higher weighted but just because I love out of state I can get any weight.

Cal states and the UC’s are California public universities which are supported by the tax payers of California so their priority is given to in-state applicants. If your school sends a HS profile showing that you go to a competitive school, this will be taken into account when reviewing applications. There are many OOS schools that will give you credit for your Honors courses, but with the huge number of applicants/students in California that can’t even get into their own state schools, why should OOS applicants have an advantage? Apply and see what happens.

I am taking the Act on Saturday and again in October. I am going to try my best to score at least a 27.

Good luck
