I’m currently a junior in high school, and I was just wondering about my chances of getting in to SDSU or UCI as well as how much if any financial aid the school would approximately provide??? I currently have a 3.9 unweighted gpa, and a 4.65 weighted. I’m taking IB English, IB History, IB psychology, and IB Spanish for the remainder of high school, and i plan on taking ap calculus and ap government next year. in my freshman and sophomore years, I took ap world history and honors courses as well as a couple gen ed classes. My sat is a 1180 out of 1600 (new sat) and my act is a 27. I’m in nhs, the president of model United Nations, the vp of key club, a tutor, and I have a job. the only thing is that I’d be an out of state student.
Calculate your UC/CSU GPA: https://rogerhub.com/gpa-calculator-uc/
Next calculate your Eligibility index for SDSU: (CSU GPA x800) + (SAT Math+CR) or (CSU GPA x200) + (ACT Comp x10)
For SDSU, you want an EI of 4100+ to be competitive.
For UCI, you want a UC GPA of 4.0+ and tests scores for SAT around 1250+ or ACT of 28+, for the best chances just based on stats.
As an OOS applicant, you will receive little to no financial aid so expect to pay around $36K/year for SDSU and around $55K+/year for UCI. You can run the Net Price calculators for each school but the majority of aid given at these schools is need-based for California residents (Cal Grants/Blue and Gold Opportunity).
