I got into Mechanical Engineering for San Diego State, Cal Poly Pomona, and Cal State Long Beach, and am currently trying to make a decision between the three. While I know Pomona is known for its engineering program, I’m not sure about the school itself. Which school would you say is best for engineering, and in general?
Have you visited all the schools? CPP is known for their Engineering but my son’s roommate chose SDSU over CPP /CSULB and UCR to attend SDSU. I know he liked the campus “fit” better than the other schools and since they are ABET accredited, the ME programs are similar.
An advantage for CPP is that they have a 4 year pledge, which guarantees you graduate in 4 years if you meet the requirements.

You should pick the school that meets your requirements academically/socially and financially.
They are all excellent. Most college students change major at least once so, pick a school where you will be happy, engineering major or not. Spend some time on all 3 campuses, talk to some current students and one will emerge as your best choice.
We are facing the same situation, which school out of those three for mechanical engineering did you choose? My son has to make a decision tomorrow!
